On the 30th March, the community came together to remember the Navvies who built our railway and in particular the nine men who died building the line between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth.
The event was attended by Christopher Henley the SWR Chaplain, Nick Saunders from the Milton Heritage Society and David Rice-Munday Deputy Chair of New Milton Town Council. Music was supplied by Steve West and his band of Hobos who played a special traditional song about the Navvies. The Friends offered hot chocolate to the assembled community and passing passengers.
