Did you know that New Milton Station once had a regular feline traveller?
Stanley was a lucky ginger cat who lived in the railway cottages near the station. He would regularly be seen exploring the local area and wandering up and down the northside platform.
This fearless cat would even hop on a train while it was stopped in the station and travel up to the next station along the line, where the guard would pop him back on the next train home. He would then alight at New Milton after an extended adventure.
Stanley is featured in our station mural on the northside wall just across Station Approach from the cottages.
