On the 11th September, the Friends of New Milton Station were delighted to unveil their first waiting room ‘pop up’ exhibition showcasing the work of the Rectory Quilters.

The Rectory Quilters created a Centenary Quilt to commemorate New Milton’s 100th anniversary in 1996. With the quilt beginning to fade, the Friends wanted to capture the work. The quilt is currently on display in St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Old Milton.

Four of the five posters now on display in the waiting room tell the story of the creation of the quilt and each panel depicts an aspect of New Milton’s fascinating history. The fifth poster highlights the wonderful work of the Rectory Quilters and their fundraising events.

The Quilters not only sew, they make a fabulous cake!
