The Friends were delighted to be announced the South & South East in Bloom ‘Celebration Stations’ winner 2025!
The Celebration Stations Award saw the Friends beat over 100 other stations in the South & South East.
The Award isn’t just about the flower but also the community we are building around our historic station.
On the 20th January 2026, the Friends were delighted to welcome over 80 members of our community to receive our Celebration Stations Award. The Award was presented by Peter Holman, Chair of South & South East in Bloom along with Derek Beer from SSEIB, Paula Aldridge from Community Rail and Darryl Smith our Station Manager.
It was a very jolly occasion to say thank you to all the community who helped us win the award. Cake was eaten, tea drunk and a silly game of ‘Railway Puns Bingo’ kept everyone on their toes!
